Why Are We Like This?!
life could be so easy
We could have so much more, were it not for our global meddling
Israel could stick to its already inflated borders, grant Palestine a state, leave Lebanon and Iran the fuck alone, and continue merrily sipping margueritas by the pool - yet it has engaged in an unimaginable campaign of atrocity and genocide, shattering what (if anything) was left of its reputation in the eyes of the people of the world, in an attempt to secure a 25 mile strip of land for beachside real-estate development and American-style oil theft - and in doing so, has turned more than half the world from passive neutral bystanders into active enemies.
Elon Musk and Mark Zukerberg could rest on their laurels and enjoy having their every personal need catered to by an army of fawning sycophants for the rest of their artificial little lives... instead they choose to spend time and resources turning their platforms into algorithmically driven conflict machines, with Plastic Space Karen actually choosing to try and stir up ‘civil war’ in other countries from the safety of his Silicon Valley ivory tower.
This is not the behaviour of happy people.
You just wish you could grab these divisive, neurotic, hyper-wealthy maniacs by their collar and shake them until they realised that what they are doing is not making them any happier - and that it is, in the long run, endangering them, and that they could still enjoy lives of incomprehensible luxury and total wish-fulfilment if they could just recognise that the extremes of wealth they have attained are demonstrably making them neurotic.
But that’s the problem, isn’t it.
That’s why the richest become the richest.
Because many of the quite rich or even very rich have learned what ‘enough’ looks like. They have noticed that, beyond a certain point, hoarding material wealth is not merely ineffective at improving their wellbeing, but is actively harmful to it. Over a certain level of wealth, you will never know who is a friend or a lover or who just wants your money. Hence the recent campaigns and polls suggesting that most of the country’s wealthiest 5% would be happy to pay more tax, as they do in the happiest of all places, Scandinavia.
There are plenty of wealthy people in Scandinavia, plenty of thriving businesses, but the taxation system makes sure that these individuals and businesses exist in a functioning, happy society, rather than a chaotic, crime-and-poverty ridden hell-hole, like America.
But the ones who know how and when to stop - the ones who have red lines and genuine principles - we rarely hear about them. No, we hear about the trumps and bezos of the world, firing the already-wealthy off into space for tourism, whilst attacking their workers, cutting everything they can from the common man, and shit-stirring among working class communities for kicks all around the world.
America has an obscenely bloated military budget which has done nothing except add to its list of (fully justified) enemies. If it could just trim the cancerous growth which its armed forces have become, millions more Americans could see an improving quality of life without impacting the wallets of the wealthiest in any way!
This is the mad world we are living in - our ‘free-market’ obsessed systems have selected for the most deranged, ignorant, short-sighted and unhappy personalities to rise to the greatest positions of power. And once there, they continue repeating the same harmful actions over and over again, desperately and insanely trying to fill the yawning void shot through their chests by their own blind avarice - whilst the people who do not desire unbridled power remain happy, well-adjusted, free from their gold chains... but lacking the power to demand control of the world because they lack the desire because they know what ‘enough’ looks like and can see the neurosis which ‘too much’ inevitably brings.
I don’t want to inflict suffering on this hyper-wealthy gilded sliver - they do that to themselves anyway, as revealed by the petulant foot-stamping and perpetual victimhood neuroses of the world’s donny’s and elons. I want a world in which as many people as possible are free to succeed so long as others don’t starve. Where as many people as possible reach as high as they can, rather than the hyper-neurotic hoarding more than they will ever need whilst using their obscene power to manipulate the working class into fighting itself, into needless wars, into isolation and division and hate. Stopping these lunatics should not only be seen as an exercise in justice, but a psychiatric intervention to prevent future heinous crimes.
